Albena is a major Black Sea resort in northeastern Bulgaria, situated 12 km from Balchik and 30 km from Varna. Albena is served by the international airport of Varna.
Albena is one of the purpose-built resorts on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Many of the hotels are situated on the beach itself providing direct access to the beach and sea. Albena is located close to other tourist, cultural and commercial centres and in the same time remains within well-preserved natural surroundings.
The resort is remarkable for its 5-km long, 150 m wide beach with very fine and clean sand; the sea water is usually crystal clear, calm and warm. Sea depth does not exceed 1.6 metres at a distance up to 100–150 metres from the beach.
The specific sea climate is mild and pleasant with clean air, rich in ozone and optimal humidity of 63-65%. The tourist season lasts from May till October, when the use of the sea and the beach is guaranteed.
The resort offers visitors numerous sport activities including football pitches and an equestrian base and hosts many cultural events and conferences.
The village of Kranevo is situated near the sea resort Albena, 24 km northeast of Varna. There is regular bus transport from Balchik, Varna and Dobrich. Due to its location close to the sea, the village is a resort, more popular with the students’ bases in the village.
The beach strip has fine sands and gently slopes into the sea. The combination of spring mineral water, fresh air and magnificent beach makes the resort an attractive place for a quiet vacation. At disposal of the guests are numerous private rooms, small hotels, cozy cafes, nigth clubs, fast food restaurants, disco clubs and the prices are more than reasonable. Only 2 km away from the village is located the Albena resort and tourists can reach it afoot.
The resort of Golden Sands is situated 19 km north-east of Varna, 490 km east of Sofia. North of the resort is the village of Kranevo and south is Chaika holiday village. Golden Sands merges with the St. St. Konstantin and Elena Resort and Riviera resort. The area is famous for the purest sand on the Black Sea coast.
The constant temperature of about 27°C and the microclimate of Golden Sands throughout the season make it a wonderful place for having a rest and fun. There is a casino, many bars, mini- golf playground, horse-carriages and attractive carts, water slides, good conditions and equipment for practising all kinds of water sports.
An interesting place to visit near Golden Sands is Alaja rock monastery.The monastery is declared a cultural sight and houses a small museum.
The transport between Golden Sands and the big city of Varna is well organised. Apart from the bus lines connecting the resort to the city and to the airport as well, there are a lot of minibuses and private taxis.
St. Constantine and Helena was founded in 1908 as a balneology center. The resort offers numerous mineral springs, balneology complexes, open- air pool with hot mineral water famous for its healing quality.
Situated in a fine old park with cypresses, lilies and fig trees, quiet bays, sand beaches and curative mineral springs, the resort offers comfortable hotels, modern restaurants serving national and European cuisine, sports and entertainment, excursions.
The name of the resort comes from the nearby situates monastery “St Constantine and Helena”, which is built at the beginning of the18th century.
Regular town buses run every ten minutes (from 6.00 a.m. till 11.00 p.m.) from the resort to Varna. Many minibuses and route-taxis are another alternative for quick transport to Varna.
Riviera Holiday Club is situated 16 km northeast of Varna, and 25 km from the Varna airport. It borders on the most famous resort in the North Black Sea coast - Zlatni Piasatsi (Golden Sands).

Nesebar is an ancient city and a major seaside resort on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, located in Nesebar municipality, Burgas Province. Nesebar is a rich city-museum defined by more than three millennia of ever-changing history.
It is a one of the most prominent tourist destinations and seaports on the Black Sea, in what has become a popular area with several large resorts—the largest, Sunny Beach, is situated immediately to the north of Nesebar.
The ancient part of the town is situated on a peninsula (previously an island) connected to the mainland by a narrow man-made isthmus, and it bears evidence of occupation by a variety of different civilisations over the course of its existence. Its abundance of historic buildings prompted UNESCO to include Nesebar in its list of World Heritage Sites in 1983.
Sozopol is an ancient town and seaside resort located 15 km south of Burgas on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, in Bulgaria. Today the town is mostly a seaside resort known for the Apollonia art and film festival (which takes place in early September) and is named after one of Sozopol's ancient names.
